Medium Range gives 127bhp/215Nm - claimed range is 325km, Long Range gives 143bhp/215Nm - tested range is 296km. The 7.2kW AC home wall box charger comes as standard and charges 10-100 per cent in 4.3/6 hours for Medium/Long Range. It can be charged quickly anywhere with the DC fast charger; charges 10-80 per cent in 56 minutes for both Medium and Long Range. It is quick to accelerate owing to the electric motor’s instant torque, especially in Sport mode (claimed 0-100kmph in 8.9 seconds). The battery regeneration modes are incorporated into the paddle shifters for more convenience. There’s a lot of ground clearance and passengers will find the ride quality to be comfortable. It also has good handling thanks to the well-balanced weight distribution and responsive steering. Negatives: The home wall box AC charger takes 10.5/15 hours (Medium/Long Range) to charge from 10-100 per cent. The ‘charge anywhere’ 15kW portable charger also takes 10.5/15 hours (Medium/Long Range) to charge from 10-100 per cent. The Tata Nexon EV gets a 45kWh battery pack that powers a motor making 143bhp and 215Nm. It can accelerate from a standstill to 100kmph in just 8.9 seconds. As for charging, the 60kW fast charger takes 40 minutes to take it from 20% to 80%. The 7.2kW AC charger, on the other hand, takes 6 hours and 36 minutes for a 10% to 100% charger. Positives: It gets an electric sunroof that can be operated through the voice command function. Is offered with a two-spoke back-lit steering, 10.25-inch HD configurable driver display, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with app download capability. It is available with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and a fantastic JBL music player with nine speakers including a sub-woofer. The Nexon EV comes with an electronic parking brake switch and touch controls for the air-con, boot release, and 360-degree camera. Is equipped with an auto-dimming IRVM, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, and two 45W Type-C ports. Is compatible with vehicle-to-vehicle charging (charge another EV) and V2L (vehicle-to-load) to externally charge your equipment. The leatherette seats have a ventilation function for the front row and are comfortable and supportive overall. The 60:40 rear bench has a centre armrest and can easily seat three passengers with generous legroom. Negatives: The instrument cluster does not display navigation from Google Maps on an iOS smartphone. It takes time to remember the controls on the centre panel and touch feedback would improve the user experience. Only the driver’s seat can be adjusted for height and not the front passenger's seat. Positives: It has a stunning dual-tone design with 16-inch alloys that improve efficiency and a DRL bar with a charging indicator. The high-placed bonnet compliments the minimal grille (like all EVs) with the sequential turn indicators. The rear is even more attractive with the angular connecting taillamps, spoiler, and inverted wiper under it. The cabin looks and feels thoroughly modern, especially in the cream-black theme, giving it an airy and plush feel. The wide touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, and attractive two-spoke steering feel premium. Controls on the centre console and the stubby gear lever look and feel upmarket. Negatives: Although subjective, the purple paint shade on the Nexon EV is a little too bright and fancy. It needs more styling variations to differentiate it from the regular Tata Nexon. Read more

Positives: Gets a five-star safety rating along with six airbags as standard across all variants. Is available with a 360-degree camera and a blind spot view monitor for better visibility.
