17.3kWh
3.5Positives: It is fully electric, gets a 41bhp/110Nm motor with a 17.3kWh battery (IP67 rated), uses an automatic transmission, and gives a CarWale-tested range of 191km. The claimed charge time from 0-100 per cent with the 7.4kW and 3.3kW chargers is 3.5 hours and seven hours, respectively. It is silent till you press the throttle and hear the motor; the speed build-up is predictable and smooth. The compact footprint of the Comet means that driving in traffic or parking in tight city spots is quite fun. It has three driving modes - Eco, Normal, and Sports and there’s enough power in Eco mode for most driving situations. It takes 19.97 seconds to do 0-100kmph and 0-60kmph comes up in 6.98 seconds, which is reasonably good to get ahead of the traffic. The braking is gradual and predictable, with enough feel at the pedal and the hill hold is a boon when one stops on a slope. The suspension is absorbent at city speeds over rough patches; the steering is light at slow speeds and weighs up with the increase in speed. Negatives: It does not have a start/stop button but is ready to get going by tapping the brake pedal twice and slotting into D mode. There is no creep function in the Comet and some accelerator input is necessary for getting it into motion. Overtaking takes time as the 20-80kmph and 40-100kmph runs were recorded at 10.48 seconds and 17.44 seconds, respectively. The top speed is limited to 85kmph, it struggles to keep up with fast-moving highway traffic and cruising at top speeds is not ideal. The ride quality feels harsh over bad surfaces at higher speeds and the noise can be heard inside the cabin. Driving the Comet enthusiastically around corners will make you nervous due to the tall-boy stature, limited wheelbase, small 12-inch wheels, and skinny tyres. It does not support fast charging and the quickest charging option (7.4kWh) takes 3.5 hours to charge from 0-100 per cent. Comet Convenience and Technology
3.8Positives: This three-door four-seater compact EV is reasonably loaded with modern features. You can easily be seated in the front with an acceptable driving position, sufficient headroom and knee-room, and good visibility. The floating twin display comprises a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen. Despite the proportions, the Comet tends to have an airy cabin owing to the smart use of light colours. There is wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, digital key with a sharing function, voice commands, and i-Smart connected car features. There is adequate space for two medium-sized individuals in the second row without rubbing shoulders. Negatives: The front seats are placed close to each other, resulting in some restrictive shoulder room for larger passengers. Tall occupants will complain about the shortage of thigh support in the Comet’s front-row seats. The small second-row windows combined with the large front seats restrict outward visibility for rear passengers. The high-set second-row floor translates into a knees-up seating position, which makes exiting this car challenging. The absence of a glove box and centre console storage means passengers can only rely on the slots and bottle holders in the door pads and dashboard. The AC does not display temperature in Celsius oddly but in levels like L0, L1, L2, L3, L4, and High. There is bootspace for two slim laptop bags at most unless the second-row split-folding seats are dropped down. Read more
Comet Exterior and Interior Styling
3.5Positives: Its compact design with a two-door configuration, an illuminated MG logo, and front and rear connecting lights looks quite unique. It is a cute, unconventional, and quirky car, especially in its Apple Green exterior shade, and it's not even three metres long! It is available in dual-tone shades called Candy White and Apple Green with Starry Black roofs, and monotone colours like Starry Black, Candy White, and Aurora Silver. The twin 10.25-inch displays, along with the dual-tone Space Grey, spice the unconventional design and cabin layout. MG offers customisation options such as over 250 combinations of stickers, graphics, and other features to personalise your Comet. The quality of materials and finish is good, the panel gaps are consistent, and there are no scratchy plastics. Another feel-good factor is the two-spoke steering with controls that give away vibes of Apple’s iPod of yesteryear. Negatives: The Comet can seem a little too small in terms of ideal dimensions. The small proportions and body style make it quite a divisive design. Read more
Comet Safety
3Positives: It gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and front and rear row three-point seatbelts. It has reverse parking sensors and a camera, hill-hold assist functionality, electronic parking brake, and tyre pressure monitoring. Negatives: It does not benefit from the safety of six airbags across the range of variants. The Comet has not been tested yet for crash ratings from the NCAP agency. Read more

Interior & Cargo Layout: The interior of the Tata Sierra is highly futuristic yet functional. The driver is greeted by a multi-screen cockpit that offers crisp graphics and fluid animations. The layout is clean, with minimal physical buttons. Passengers in the back enjoy excellent legroom, and the large panoramic roof adds to the airy feel of the cabin. Boot space is competitive and expandable via 60:40 split rear folding seats.
Value & Verdict: When comparing the features and driving dynamics against its mid-size competitors, the Sierra represents a solid proposition. Its blend of safety, design flair, and rich features makes it one of the most compelling options for buyers wanting a standout vehicle.
