Petrol
3.8The Tata Altroz facelift comes equipped with a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine that makes 87bhp at 8000rpm and 115Nm of torque at 3250rpm. This 1.2-litre Revotron powertrain can be had with 5-speed Manual, 5-speed AMT and 6-speed DCA (DCT in standard terms) transmission options. The 6-speed DCT can improve driving experience while the auto park lock boosts safety by preventing unintended car movement. The engine feels smooth and refined for the most part but has slight vibrations when pushed. It feels effortless in the city conditions and can cruise smoothly around 80 to 100kmph on the highways. All the Tata Altroz variants (Personas as Tata calls it)–Smart, Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative S, Accomplished S, and Accomplished Plus S– can be had with the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine. CNG
3.8The All-new Tata Altroz facelift also has a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a CNG unit (dubbed iCNG). It produces a refreshing 72bhp of power at 6000rpm and 103Nm of torque at 3500rpm in CNG mode, while the performance figures in the petrol mode remain the same as the 1.2-litre petrol only version. The dedicated CNG switch comes in handy as you can not only start the Altroz in CNG mode but also seamlessly switch between petrol and CNG modes while driving. The Tata Altroz iCNG comes equipped with dual CNG cylinders, capable of storing 60 litres of CNG and 5-speed manual transmission. Unlike most CNG-petrol cars in the segment, the overall drop in performance and feel is very negligible other than the low-end acceleration. Only Smart, Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative S, and Accomplished S variants come equipped with the 1.2-litre CNG configuration. Key Specifications: Fuel Type CNG Engine 1199 cc Transmission Manual & Automatic (AMT) Mileage (User Reported) 23 km/kg Power 72 bhp Torque 103 Nm Read more
Diesel Turbo
3.8The 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel engine in the Tata Altroz packs a punch with 89bhp of power at 4000rpm and 200Nm of torque at 3000rpm. Mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, this four-cylinder turbocharged variant offers an energetic driving experience. The diesel engine provides ample low-end torque and the power delivery is linear. But it masks its speed well so it might be going faster than it feels. The refinement in low revs is also satisfactory and the revised suspension setup makes the ride softer to make bad roads more bearable. Although body roll is evident even while changing lanes on the highway. Only Pure, Creative S and Accomplished S variants come equipped with the 1.5-litre turbo-diesel powertrain. Key Specifications: Fuel Type Diesel Engine 1497 cc Turbocharged Transmission Manual Power 89 bhp Torque 200 Nm Read more
