Tata Punch EV

The new Tata Punch EV comes equipped with a 40kWh battery pack, which is bigger than the 35kWh unit in the outgoing model. Tata also claims that the battery packs in this generation are denser, more thermally sound, and reliable across different climates. The power figures for this configuration are stated as 127bhp and 154Nm of torque. The power figures are yet to be revealed, but it gets an ARAI-rated range of 468km. Tata also revealed the C75 real-world range of 355km (claimed figures). The 65kW DC fast charger can juice it up from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes. Moreover, a quick 15 minutes of charging can provide a range of 135km. To further improve the driving experience, it gets multi‐mode regen via the paddle shifters and three driving modes in City, Eco, and Sport. This allows for up to 12 combinations to maximise efficiency, performance, or control. The new Tata Punch EV gets a 10.25-inch Harmon infotainment system, a 10.25-inch driver's display, and a 360-degree camera system. Besides, it also features touch-based climate controls, a centre console with 'Jewel' finish drive selector, ventilated front seats, an air purifier, a cooled glovebox, and a rear armrest. It gets the iRA.ev app with 60+ connected car features, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless smartphone charger, and multiple voice assistant (Siri, Alexa, Google Assistant) support. The changes are more subtle on the Tata Punch EV Facelift as the outgoing model was already updated with Tata's new design philosophy. Still, one can see the smoother detailing and updated bumper on the facelift. This mid-life exterior update includes an tweaked front with split-headlamps, LED DRLs, and black plastic cladding with horizontal slats in the bumper. From the sides, it carries over the same silhouette as the outgoing model. It has a ground clearance of 195mm, other visual tweaks include black wheel arch claddings, ORVM-mounted turn indicators. At the back, it features connected tail-lights, a rear wiper and spoiler. Its overall design is cleaner than its ICE counterpart to highlight its EV characteristic. The upcoming Tata Punch EV Facelift has not been tested for crash safety ratings by any NCAP bodies. The outgoing version received a five-star BNCAP rating, so the expectations from the facelift will be just as high. It comes equipped with six airbags, hill hold, ascend, and descend control, seatbelt and high-speed warning systems, ISOFIX child seat anchor points, blind-spot monitors, and a 360-degree camera system and over 60 safety features It gets a water-wading capacity of 400mm. The Tata Punch EV Facelift gets a new 30kWh battery pack, this is bigger than the 25kWh unit offered with the outgoing model. The 30kWh unit makes 87bhp of power and 154Nm of torque. As for the range, it can go 275km on a full charge (C75-claimed range). As for charging, the DC fast charger can add 135km of range with just 15 minutes of charging. To further improve the driving experience, it gets multi‐mode regen via the paddle shifters and three driving modes.
