Petrol
4Positives: The Hyundai Alcazar is powered by a 1.5-litre GDi turbo engine that makes 158bhp and 253Nm. It can be had with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DCT gearbox. The turbo-petrol engine feels smooth as it hits the limit on the tachometer without sounding harsh. Despite being a turbocharged SUV, its responsiveness, even the throttle inputs at low speeds, and after 2,500rpm, feels noticeably quick. The seven-speed DCT shifts gears quickly and does not let the car leap forward in stop-and-go traffic. The Alcazar handles well too, as it has a light steering and passengers enjoy an absorbent ride over bad roads even at higher speeds, that too minimal road noise seeping inside the cabin. Negatives: When pushed to the top speed, the engine response begins to slow down after 5,000rpm. The steering feel is inconsistent off the center and it leans more around corners than you’d like. Although the Alcazar’s slow-speed ride quality is slightly hard, it does not get uncomfortable. Alcazar Convenience and Technology
4.1Positives: It has a panoramic sunroof, three rows in six- and seven-seat layouts, and a digital key with NFC technology and key sharing for up to three users. At the rear, there are thigh cushion extensions, wing-type headrest, and an adjustable front passenger seat from the rear. It is offered with ventilated seats for the front and second row, and driver and co-driver power seat with a memory function for the driver. The dashboard has integrated infotainment and instrument cluster screens, both measuring 10.25 inches, and the first and second rows have a wireless charger. It gets a dual-zone climate control with a touch control panel and a Bose music player with eight speakers, including a subwoofer. The front seats are comfortable while offering generous under-thigh and lateral support. Outward visibility from inside the Alcazar is excellent due to the slim A-pillars and low dashboard. The second-row seats are quite comfortable and there’s lots of shoulder and headroom on offer. The third-row seats have reclinable backrests and access to these seats is effortless. Negatives: It lacks adequate legroom in the second row even when the seats are at the rear-most position. The twin-seat third row is not the most spacious we’ve experienced and is best for short journeys. Read more
Alcazar Exterior and Interior Styling
4It is an aesthetically designed SUV with simple and clean styling lines throughout. It has fresh styling elements like split headlamps, connecting LED light bar, new grille, and a redesigned front bumper. The new Hyundai Alcazar will also have 18-inch dual-tone alloys, large skid plates, and reshaped roof-rails. The interior feels premium owing to the silver highlights and high-quality materials like the soft-touch padding. The rear is highlighted by the vertically positioned LED tail lamps, connecting LED light bar, and the restyled bumper. The cabin and the dashboard are now available with a new brown and blue theme. The dashboard now offers two attractive 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment and instrumentation. As with most Hyundai cars, the quality, fit, and finish are good and consistent. Read more
Alcazar Safety
4.2Positives: It has Level 2 ADAS features like lane keep assist, forward collision warning and avoidance, adaptive cruise control and driver attention warning. It also offers features like a surround-view monitor, blind spot view monitor, six airbags, hill start assist, ESP, all four disc brakes, hill descent control, TPMS and rain-sensing wipers. Negatives: The Hyundai Alcazar has not yet been tested for safety ratings by the NCAP authorities. Read more
Interior & Cargo Layout: The interior of the Tata Sierra is highly futuristic yet functional. The driver is greeted by a multi-screen cockpit that offers crisp graphics and fluid animations. The layout is clean, with minimal physical buttons. Passengers in the back enjoy excellent legroom, and the large panoramic roof adds to the airy feel of the cabin. Boot space is competitive and expandable via 60:40 split rear folding seats.
Value & Verdict: When comparing the features and driving dynamics against its mid-size competitors, the Sierra represents a solid proposition. Its blend of safety, design flair, and rich features makes it one of the most compelling options for buyers wanting a standout vehicle.
